It is one of Tokyo's most colorful and popular temples. The legend says that in the year 628, two brothers fished a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida River, and even though they put the statue back into the river, it always returned to them. Consequently, Sensoji was built nearby for the goddess of Kannon. The temple was completed in 645, making it Tokyo's oldest temple. 【Nakamise shopping street】Nakamise is the most famous shopping street in Asakusa. The street runs for 250 meters on the main approach to Sensoji Temple and is lined on both sides with shops selling traditional souvenirs, snacks, and sweets. 【Matcha making】(About 1 hour) "Tea ceremony" is a traditional art ceremony related to tea, which can be read as "さどう" (SADOU) or "ちゃどう" (CHADOU), depending on the school, and also known as "tea soup" (tea の soup). Tea ceremony first originated in China, from the Kamakura period (1185-1333 AD) monks who went to China to study, tea and Zen together back to Japan, and then developed a set of unique Japanese style and tea ceremony, and derived a number of different schools of tea ceremony. Tea ceremony is not only a simple tea brewing and drinking, but also a profound comprehensive art aesthetics.

The temple was originally associated with the Hosso sect, one of the oldest schools within Japanese Buddhism, but formed its own Kita Hosso sect in 1965. In 1994, the temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. 【Kiyomizu Temple's sloping paths】 Both sides of the slope are lined with traditional Japanese buildings with a deep Kyoto style, and due to the nearby famous temples such as Takatai-ji Temple and Hachasaka Tower, it has become a popular tourist route with Kiyomizu-ji Temple as the main attraction. The Bodhi Temple (a temple dedicated to the spiritual hall) in the main room of Toyotomi Hideyoshi in ancient times is Kotae-ji Temple.
